The Project’s first look at who does not go online and why, this study is a broad over view of the Digital Divide. The report finds that some common perceptions about the digital divide are true. Those with less income and minorities are less likely than others to be online, but an even more intractable part of the “divide” relates to age. There is a pronounced “gray gap” as young people go online and seniors shun the Internet. Those who do not use the Internet often do not feel any need to try it, some are wary of the technology, and others are unhappy about what they hear about the online world.Lenhart (2009) - Adults and Social Network Websites.pdf
