WBI’fs Knowledge for Development (K4D) group has developed a Knowledge Assessment Methodology (KAM). The KAM (www.worldbank.org/kam) benchmarks the performance of an economy or region relative to its neighbors, competitors, or countries it wishes to emulate on important aspects related to the knowledge economy. This tool helps to highlight that countries need to develop explicit strategies to harness knowledge to improve growth, welfare and increase competitiveness.
