mission-oriented innovationAbstract:
Ecosystem transitions provide a transformative framework for public sector organisations to address complex societal challenges by fostering systemic solutions and rethinking relationships among actors. This approach integrates the Value-Creating Systems and Three Horizons frameworks, emphasising strategic collaboration, mission-oriented innovation and portfolio-based initiatives. By reimagining governance, embracing collaborative “third spaces” and fostering mission leadership, organisations can navigate long-term transitions effectively. With a focus on sustainable impact and adaptability, ecosystem transitions empower diverse actors to achieve holistic change and showcase a paradigm shift to address pressing global issues.
