Reading a post by Ethan Zuckerman I’ve found a terrific tool I hadn’t heard of.
The Human Development Report search tools let you build your own table by chosing the countries, data, etc. you want, crossing them they way you want and exporting them in CSV files or other spreadsheet formats. Impressive, really impressive. I wonder if I’ll ever overcome my deepest ignorance :P
Some highlights/bookmarks of the information there:
This finding will be very useful :) :) :)

César tells me about Google Scholar (beta), that enables you to search specifically for scholarly literature.
You might think this is quite simple but here are some cute searches I made. I do invite you to see the results:
If you can suggest interesting queries, please let me know :)

“Rich nations flunk in educating poor”, at CNN.com.
Well, mmm…: so sad!!!
My highlight is “how rich countries have performed on promises made during a conference in Dakar in 2000 to supply funds needed to give the world’s children a basic education”. Damned promises. All in all it is always the same: Rio de Janeiro, Kyoto, Dakar… We’re running out of city names to testify the greatest lies of the world. It just makes me sick.
I guess I should go back to bed…
