The Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society (ATLAS), established in 1997, is a campus-wide entrepreneurial catalyst and incubator for innovative interdisciplinary research, creative, educational and outreach programs that are enabled by information and communication technology.

ATLAS programs include a Technology, Media and Society Ph.D.; a Technology, Arts and Media minor and certificate program; a Collaborative Arts, Media and Performance program; and K-12 outreach programs. Graduate programs in Information and Communication Technology for Develpment, and in Arts, Media and Entrepreneurship, are in development. ATLAS is also home to the National Center for Women and Information Technology, which works to increase the representation of women in information technology.

The ATLAS Institute is directed by Revi Sterling.
