Amy Mahan wrote to me some weeks ago suggesting to add more content to the Regulation category. I don’t believe in coincidences, so after being hit in the face by two good articles, I’ve no excuse but citing them here ;)
First one is William H. Dutton’s paper on The Role of the Internet Governance Forum. Entitled Addressing the Issues of Internet Governance for Development: A Framework for Setting an Agenda for Effective Coordination., the paper a submission to the Internet Governance Forum. It begins with a brief history of Internet “regulation” and ends with the current issues the Internet Governance Forum should deal with and “how”.
Second one, and strongly related to Dutton’s, is John Palfrey’s post The Internet Governance Forum which is sort of FAQ about the subject.
Both are good readings, light enough for newbies on the field, deep enough for the ones already familiar with Internet governance.
