ICT are changing the way in which companies trade with their suppliers and customers. e-Business W@tch monitors and analyses related developments and their impacts on different sectors of the European economy. Special emphasis is placed on implications for SMEs. The initiative was launched by the European Commission, DG Enterprise and Industry, in late 2001. It will be operational until the end of 2006.

e-Business W@tch has published e-Business Impact Studies on more than 20 sectors of the European economy, 4 synthesis reports, statistical pocketbooks and databases with e-business indicators. Data on the adoption of ICT and e-business activity is based to a large extent on representative surveys among decision-makers in European enterprises. Surveys were carried out in 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006.
